The fusion beats of "Aapsara Aali" pulsed through Siya's private dance studio near her house. She moved with fluid precision, her hip-hop routine bringing urban energy to the classical tune.
"Yaar Siya, this remix is fire! Where did you get it?" Priya called out between her practice of "Tu Jaane Na."
"You know my older cousin brother his friend is a DJ in Mumbai. He makes these fusion tracks for me," Siya replied, not breaking her rhythm.
Priya was about to respond when the door opened, revealing Krishiv and Eshan.
"Arrey, we were looking for a peaceful spot to practice and-" Krishiv started.
"And you thought breaking into my private studio was the answer?" Siya paused her dance, raising an eyebrow.
"Mujhe laga ki yeh jhga bhut dino se khali hai toh ajj bhi koi nhi hoga toh hum chale aaye." Krishiv protested, running a hand through his perfectly styled hair.
(I thought this place is empty form so many days so today also there will be no that's why we came here)
"That doesn't mean walk right in like it's your living room," Priya retorted, closing her music book.
Krishiv held up his guitar like a peace offering. "Come on yaar, the school's too crowded, and everywhere else is either booked or too expensive."
"Not our problem," Siya shrugged, moving to restart her music.
"Please?" Krishiv looked hopefully at Priya. "I've been working on a new version of 'Locha-E-Ulfat.' Maybe it could blend with 'Tu Jaane Na'?"
"Oh God, fusion ka keeda tumhe bhi kaat gaya kya?" Priya rolled her eyes.
(Have you also been bitten by the fusion bug?)
In her corner, Aashvi continued her taekwondo practice, completely tuning out the conversation. Her kicks and punches remained precise and focused.
"At least someone's getting actual practice done," Eshan commented, watching Aashvi. When she didn't respond, he added louder, "Those moves are really impressive!"
Aashvi continued her forms as if she hadn't heard a word.
"You know what else is impressive?" Priya smirked. "How she's managing to ignore all of you."
"Especially you, Mr. Model," Siya chuckled at Eshan, who was now pretending to check his phone while stealing glances at Aashvi.
"Speaking of practice," Krishiv quickly changed the subject, starting to play his guitar softly, "this new arrangement I've been working on..."
"If I say you can stay, will you promise to keep the volume down?" Siya interrupted, wiping her face with a towel.
"Ekdum! Promise!" Krishiv nodded eagerly.
"Fine. Par koi drama nahi chahiye," Siya warned, then looked at Priya. "That goes for you too, Miss Sarcastic."
"Me? Drama?" Priya placed a hand over her heart in mock offense. "I would never!"
Meanwhile, at the school basketball court, Yash practiced his shots alone, the rhythmic bounce of the ball his only company. The solitude suited him - no distractions, no complications.
Back at the studio, Krishiv had settled into a corner, strumming gently while sneaking glances at Priya, who pointedly ignored him.
"Hey Priya, what if we-" he started.
"No."
"But I didn't even-"
"Still no."
Eshan leaned against the wall, striking what he clearly thought was a casual pose. "The lighting here is perfect for Instagram..."
"Seriously?" Siya cut in. "Is that all you think about?"
"Says the girl who just posted three dance reels this morning," Priya teased.
"I didn't posted it yet and it helps to improve more clarity in dance also that's different! Those were for my dance page!" Siya justified herself.
"Guys," Aashvi's voice suddenly cut through their banter, making everyone jump. "Some of us are trying to focus."
Then she resumed her practice as if she hadn't spoken, leaving everyone staring.
"Did... did she just speak?" Eshan whispered dramatically.
"Miracle of miracles," Priya deadpanned.
"Chalo, back to practice," Siya announced, returning to her starting position. "You boys better not mess up my routine."
"As if we could," Krishiv smiled, starting to play 'Locha-E-Ulfat' softly.
The afternoon continued this way - Siya's hip-hop moves flowing to the fusion beat, Priya's vocals soaring above Krishiv's gentle guitar, Eshan trying (and failing) to catch Aashvi's attention, and Aashvi remaining in her own world of focused practice. A typical day of stupid peoples sharing space, some more willingly than others.
